Sharpen the blade Tips
Don't worry, sharpening the blade is an accessible task that you can do just at home while in containment. To sharpen the blade of your mower, it takes place in 4 steps:
- For safety, disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
- You must check that the tank is empty (or almost) and that the air filter is in the high position (otherwise you risk flooding the engine).
- Disassemble the bladekeeping it in position. Then use both hands: one hand to hold the blade and keep it from turning. And on the other, take a socket wrench to loosen the central screw with fine pitch. If you have a vise, place the blade in it and using a flat file, sharpen the bevel always down. If you have a bench grinder, the operation can be more efficient and faster.
- Before reassembling the blade, make sure of the correct direction of assembly. In general, 2 small pins on the motor rotor corresponding to 2 holes in the blade allow the blade to be positioned and locked in complete safety.
Note: Before mowing the lawn , make sure that the oil and fuel levels on your mower are correct. These checks are carried out very simply. You just have to visually check the oil and gasoline level using the dipstick on your mower.
Lawn Mower Maintenance: Mulching
Mulching is a lawn care method that aims to naturally fertilize the soil by leaving the clippings in place to create a mulch.
In addition to preventing you from collecting fallen grass during mowing, mulching is an excellent natural solution against weeds and contributes to a clean crop.
Finally, mulching is also an economical method that will distract you from fertilizers and other fertilizers. In other words, mulching is the solution for a cleaner and fuller lawn because it promotes the natural regeneration of your lawn. This function is available on many chainsaws that we offer.
